Remembering Covid-19: Aguilas commemorates 3 years of the Spanish State of Alarm
In an official act today, Águilas commemorated the third anniversary of the State of Alarm for the pandemic in Spain

A solemn ceremony was held in the municipal cemetery in Águilas this morning, Tuesday March 14, to mark the third anniversary of the State of Alarm that was announced due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
The religious ceremony in Águilas was held to remember the victims of Covid, as well as the other people who died during the pandemic for other reasons and whose funerals were necessarily small affairs due to the restrictions in place at the time.
In this morning’s official act, which was chaired by the Águilas Mayor Mari Carmen Moreno, there were words of remembrance and gratitude for the work carried out during those hard times by medical professionals and key workers.
“Three years ago, the world was shaken by the news of the pandemic. Today, we have recovered normality thanks to advances in vaccination, but we must not forget all those who were left behind, as well as those who struggled to cope with the harsh conditions that we had to live through,” said the Mayor.

Of course, Covid is still around, but the most dangerous times are well behind us now. The Region of Murcia is the Autonomous Community in Spain with the lowest cumulative incidence rate, and not one single person died from coronavirus this week.
